Thanks! I don't care what those alcoholic christians say about you, you're alright, online from a distance. I'm still stuck on Zoe, for the whole warrior woman amazonian goddess thing. |

A give a nod to River- she has several of her crew members hot on her tail but being a tiny little crazy warrioress ass kicker sealed her "it" factor in my book.

I love 'em all, but I have to go for the Captain as a fav. It's the loyalty and protectiveness. What's that line? "She's our witch," I think it is. He does indeed have "a way," even in the worst of times. A complicated and imperfect hero, what a dream part to play.

I voted Kaylee... mainly cause she is willing to admit to the rest of them that she aint too keen on shootong people. This is a charater trait not seen in a lot of things (thats my opinion anyways) Also she has a very interesting choice in posh frocks!

B Yeah crazy warrior "IT-ness" for the win! I knew a girl named bob...we had 3 Ashley's working at the same restaurant, and one of our Dish Washers asked the next girl we hired (ashley #4) what her name was...she said "Ashley" he shook his head and said "no it isn't, you are Bob from now on". Sorry, funny little story! MAL is the coolest character in a mini series ever by the way...nothing against everyone else cause there is an 8 way tie for 2nd place, and all very very close! |

Inara, for purely selfish reasons.
Also, I felt in the episode, "Heart of Gold", when Inara burst into tears... It just seemed to me the honest and human character moment I can think of during the episode run. I think it probably ranks among the top three poignant moments in the television series. |

When I watched Firefly when it was first one, I didn't like Jayne at all. I found him crass, crude and unfunny. It was not until I got the DVD's and watched it all, in order, that he really grew on me. But that said, I voted for Wash. Anyone brave enough to wed a warrior woman is man enough for me!

Ya know it's hard to pick just one character. They all play so well together. When you watch the show, you don't think that just one character carries the show, well maybe the Captain since he IS the central point to the ship, but it's hard to just say one is the favorite.
There are times when Zoe just makes me want to jump up and down and go YEAH! Then I love Kaylee. Inara makes my heart go pitter patter an awful lot. Wash is THE character on the ship. Book is the one you keep wondering bout how he knows so much about this police stuff. Simon is the rock around which River anchors herself not to mention a great surgeon and just what the crew needs for all their adventures. River is the seriously mysterious one (even after SERENITY) but dang that woman can kick some serious butt and I got that feeling in WAR STORIES, which is one of my favorites among all the favorites. That and Shindig. Jayne is the one you keep hoping will wake up one day and realize this is his family and that nothing will change that. Not even when the money's good enough. BUT it is indeed our Captain Tight Pants who holds all this together. The glue if you will. The father of the family. Hard to pick one favorite character, but I went with the Cap'n. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_wink.gif) What's so sad about chosing a sweet loving guy, who's more into caring than being Macho? I loved the relationship between Zoe and Wash because it seemed so Real. Yes, they fought. But he was a great husband and incredibly sensitive to Zoe's needs; you just kind of felt that. -I'm starting to rant and ramble.... better sit this out (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_smile.gif) -I'm cute, too... and single (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_wink.gif) |

Mal. Mal. And then Mal again. Really, I love all of them, with the possible exception of the man-ape-gone-wrong-thing. Special mention goes to Wash, whom I adored in both the series and the movie. And - all the others. But Mal has my heart and won't let go.

I voted for Zoe a LONG time ago, but apparently, never posted my reasons for it!
Zoe, for me, is possibly my favorite television character of all time. (Well, American television, anyway. I haven't seen many shows from other countries). I've always been a fan of "warrior women", probably because I really wish I were one. (I'm not. Total weakling, here). Zoe is one of the greatest warrior women because she represents both halfs. She's a warrior: she's physically strong; she never backs away from a fight; she can fight alone or side-by-side with her fellow warriors; she can hold her own against any opponent; she can remain calm during intense situations; she can think on her feet; she can fight dirty when need be; and she can fight with or without weapons. And she's a woman: she's sexy, sweet, feminine, charming, loving, strong (in every other way), intelligent, caring, and beautiful. Also, she keeps her clothes on! I think one of my problems with Xena and some of the other female warriors is that they were always half naked. What does a tight, barely-there outfit have to do with strategy? Okay, maybe it fools the really dumb guys for like, a minute, but it's not comfortable or easy to move in. Women (and men) can be sexy without taking their clothes off. Heck, they're sexier with them on! It's the mystery, the not-knowing, that makes something sexy. Another reason I love Zoe is because she is one half of my favorite television couple. Wash & Zoe are, IMO, exaclty what a married couple should be. They're in love with each other and they love each other (two seperate things). They fight: for each other, for their relationship, side by side, and with each other (as in arguments). They still have sex! Yes, after years of marriage, they are still passionate about each other. And the defining characteristic of their relationship: They put each other first. To Wash, everything and everyone comes second to Zoe. And, as she proved in War Stories, Zoe feels the same way. Joss Whedon gave us the most realistic portrayal of a married couple I've ever seen on (American) television. |
