I know we love them all, and some more than others. But what was the one you loved the least.
Me, Our Mrs Reynolds. Don't know why, maybe didn't like the hussy getting in bed with my Mal. I still like it, and I like the actress, loved Trash. Its got some great lines, the stick, and I knew you let her kiss you. Curious to see what others think. This has a limit on Poll options, so grouping some together. |

I'm wondering if someone has read the question wrong, since one picked Out of Gas and the other Objects in Space, which in my opinion are two of the best hours of television period, not just for Firefly.

Haha yeah, I thought Out of Gas and Objects in Space were interesting choices too.
Heart of Gold for me. Got a few good lines in it but otherwise, meh. |

ouch... people don't like heart of gold? i thought that was a pivotal episode because it brought out mal and inara's feelings for each other and it was the episode where inara said she was leaving serenity (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_redface.gif)
{EDIT} this was also the episode where we find out one of the main conflicts between zoe and wash... zoe wants children, but wash does not because of the life they live... |

Yeah, Out of Gas is simply amazing. My least favorite is also Heart of Gold. I don't know it just suffered by comparison I guess.

Heart of Gold appeared fine to be at first but upon repeated viewings its thinness shows. Someone on here said it's almost like fan fiction which I think kind of fits it. The usually somewhat subtle western theme is at maximum, Mal and Inara's romantic tension is played up blatantly, the 'Seven Samurai' plot was disappointing, and I'm afraid the actress who played Nandi hammed it up a bit too much for my liking. It was just a sloppy episode. Don't get me wrong, it's entertaining, just not really all that great.

Train Job, due to obvious writing problems they faced in putting that episode together. Felt sorry for Joss and Co. about that episode.

It was a toss up between Train Job and A Heart of Gold. I came close to losing interest in the rest of the series when FOX aired Train Job first - it was a little dull. And Heart of Gold was just a little too..well...silly.
Both shows still have the great lines, though: Inara: "What did I say to you about barging into my shuttle?" Mal: "That it was manly and impulsive?" Inara: "Yes, precisely. Only the exact phrase I used was 'don't'." Jayne: "Time for some thrilling heroics." Inara: "It sounds like the sort of thing this crew can handle. I can't guarantee they'll handle it particularly well, but-" Nandi: "If they got guns, and brains at all..." Inara: "They have guns." |

Aside from Objects in Space, this episode took my breath away. Yes, it was a little more blatant in its western influences, but the drama of the episode just astounded me. Besides, its got one of the best Jayne lines: "They're whores." "I'm in." (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_wink.gif) |

Thats the way I see it. It was a great show, every show was. But this was probably my least favored. We all know Mal and Inara want each other, and want them to get it on, but we delight at the fact that they never will. And that show played into it a bit too much. The fact that there seemed to be something between Mal and Nandi was really odd too. |

I thought they overplayed Inara's upset-ness in Heart of Gold. They had it right on when they had her glad for her freind and glad that Mal spent that last night with her comforting her. I could see some upset, but sobbing brokenheartedly in her room? So much for sexual enlightenment.

Yep, a toss up between The Train Job & Heart of Gold, but when forced to pick one as the one I enjoyed the least I would have to say Heart of Gold.
Like Kazz I didn't like how HoG teased us w/ the whole Mal/Inara dynamic. We want them to be together, or at the very least to admit how they feel, but HoG was full of missed chances & tap dancing around the truth. I didn't like how Nandi started to tell Mal that Inara had feelings for them, but then they get interrupted when the bad guys show up & Nandi dies w/ the secret. It seemed a bit too cliche to me. |

My least favourite episode is actually Bushwhacked, but I went for The Train Job, which is my second least favourite, because I ADORE Our Mrs Reynolds and they're grouped together. When they're absolutely nothing alike.

Heart of Gold = blah. Has anyone noticed there is a huge difference in quality of script and direction whenever Joss is the primary writer of an episode?

I liked HOG (<--- Hog, really?)
I didn't love it, but it was pretty good. The message was one of the few episode of any Joss shows that I;'m not keen to rewatch. Watched it for a 3rd time with hubby 'cause he hadn't seen it. (The second time was for the commentary.) |

Why were some of the episodes doubled up? I think that makes the voting tough because you might like one but not the other.

Voted Train Job. Would've voted Bushwacked but it was with Our Mrs Reynolds, which is my 3rd on my list of favorites... Out of Gas being first and Objects in Space being second.

I think it's interesting people are voting the Train Job. I didn't mind it. Might not be the best episode of them all but when you hear about the conditions they had to write it under... you certainly feel obligated to forget the little things.

Heart of Gold is my least favorite because the premise, I thought, was poor and the direction wasn't very good either. Out of Gas was the best episode ever though, can't imagine who might vote for it.

I like The Train Job, but did feel sorry for everyone who worked on the original pilot because it was much better (FOX Programming executives are notorious for not "getting" anything beyond the obvious crowd pleasers- 90210, The O.C., Married with Children, et. al), but I have to say Heart of Gold was a bit of a clunker.
Every series has them - especially in the first season - while the production finds it's way. As much as I love the show, most of the episodes had a rushed freeling to the the last two acts. They set up was generally so good and interesting, it took a little longer than it could have so the last two acts tended to be a little fast and pat. Again, a common problem with a first season show. That said, I am a huge fan of the show, of the 'verse Joss created and am hoping against hope that Universal wants to do a sequel to come out next year. The series may be dead, but the films still have a chance. Anyone notice that Amazon.com still has Serenity at #2, and that WalMart keeps selling out of Firefly (which is at #5 now I believe - not bad for a DVD set released in 2003, huh?) Grassroots movements are a powerful thing. Let's "move" Universal into seeing the light! |

Bushwhacked, easily. I guess it's scary if you've never seen a horror movie.

I don't know why everyone dislikes Heart of Gold; it's one of my favorites. Can't beat a good sex scene! Mal! Sex! What more do you want?
