Notes on Mal's age, for updating the timeline (via findthespider@yahoo.com): Mal was born on september 20, 2468. look closer at his DOB in the movie when the Operative is viewing his file. Look on imdb.com, search for "Serenity". When the Operative reviews Mal's file, it shows his Date of Birth as 9/20/2468. 9/20/2002 is the day Firefly premiered. Coincidentally, 9/20/1968 is Firefly writer/producer Ben Edlund's date of birth. So...if we can just learn what year it was in the movie when it came out....we'll be in buisness! well the last battle of the war took place in 2511 and the show starts 6 years later then in the movie Mal says that Simon and River have been on the ship for 8 months so it was probably in 2517.

Yeah that is a bit too much, by any standard. If you asked me i would say more around 30 to 35 is a more realistic approach. PS:We can always wait for a next installment to clarify thinks up... But I may be wrong. I really don't think that Mal should be nearly 50 years though. |

I'd just base the characters' ages on the age of their actor.
That in mid, I assumed the D.O.B. in alliance records was in error. (Perhaps based on Mal fibbing once or twice when Bound By Law) |
