Hmmm, that's not good to hear. I suggested to my Cap'n we change our password because one of our members can't get in using the current one.

We really want to get her on the ship again!

I visit the boards nearly every day, and post nearly every day... so why is it that at the top of the forums index page I see:

October 24th? WTF?

Ha!

Mine says Oct 25th, never even noticed that before.

So here's an interesting one, and as far as I can tell, just started a few days ago.
If I open up one of the forum subsections (Fun or Real World Discussion, for example) while I'm not logged in, and then log in, somehow all of the threads in that section get marked as read, even though I haven't read them all.
Weird, huh?

Jan 9 2008, 05:04 AM
The read/unread thing has been unreliable since we got the new forum. If I mark a subforum read and go to another subforum, then come back a few minutes later, multiple threads that I already read are now marked unread. Sometimes it even happens just by going into a thread and then when I finish and return, 3 or 4 of the read threads are marked unread. It can be a little irritating but I've gotten used to it.
Joni
Jan 10 2008, 02:41 AM
But I didn't do anything that should have marked anything read or unread. And it's happened multiple times now.
Step 1) from a computer that you haven't/aren't logged into the boards from go directly to one of the forums, say the
Fun Forum for instance.Step 2) Notice that you're not logged in, and click the login link at the top. Log in.
Now everything in the Fun Forum is marked as having been read for you.
It's odd.
I switch computers between work and home which is how I end up going into a forum w/o logging in first.

Why are the smilies switching positions all the time?
In the beginning, there was light.
No, that's not it. In the beginning, these smilies

were on the first smilie tab. They were also on the first tab last night. Now they are on the third smilie tab.
Are you trying to
confuse us?

But every now and then I wonder into somewhere that I usually don't go, and people start calling me "he" and it's disconcerting.

I figured it out when you started talking about Mr. Hero. Although that's a little un-PC of me, isn't it? I s'pose you could've still been a guy then.

Hi! This one isn't high priority... just a touch annoying is all.
So I am setup to "track" several topics, including my thread in Fun. With that thread, I get lovely little e-mails every time somebody posts to my thread after I've read it.
I'm also tracking the Fantastic Christopher Eccleston thread over in General. Not sure why, but I only get e-mails about 10% of the time when that one gets posted to.
Any idea why that might be? I'd like to get the e-mails when folks post...

Could be related to the issue with generally not getting email notification of things, resolved just the other day. Keep an eye on it and see if it is still happening now.
Joni

Joni

And now I've had two messages posted in my thread, which has always been reliable before... and not gotten e-mails.
weird.

The two things that immediately springs to mind (and possibly obvious enough that you've already tried them, but I can't know that) is to check that you havent become unsubscribed from the threads (i upgraded the board recently, might've reset some things) and also check any spam filters you have (given that the mailing system was altered it might now have a problem with the source of the mail)
Beyond that I'll have to investigated the support forums more thoroughly
Joni
Feb 24 2008, 03:23 PM
K. Just checked my controls and I'm still subscribed.
I did also get one mail regarding a post to my thread in Fun, so that's good.
I'm having a rough time finding gmail's spam setting, but I get so little spam that I actually check the folder when I have something in it and I never see anything from serenitymovie.org in there... so I don't think that's it.

Hey Dev... this isn't a big deal, but strikes me as odd.
When I look at the overall top 20 posters list, I'm not there.
I checked my number of posts against the folks in there, and I should be there, right towards the top.
Why do I not see me? Do you see me when you look?

I pulled up a member search for all members with over 500 posts in descending order and
I'm not even on there!!

Hey! That's not right!
Ask FlyVote. He's keeping track of the bets and offering a Barnes & Noble gift card to the winner.

Also, gossi used to stop by the Austenites on rare occasions, and we'd be more than happy if you did as well.

Yes it's back, and yes it was gone, I spent several hours yesterday and then a few hours this morning working on it but couldnt fix it. Eventually (about 20 hours after I submitted a support ticket) the nice but slow people at IPB fixed it for me.
They also advised me that it was all Gojiro's fault/.
