It's way early, but hey! Why not?

Here's the NBC site with a preview: http://www.nbc.com/NBC_First_Look/Heroes/.

I'm super glad Greg Grunberg has got work next year.

Looks good, but I don't expect it to last,it has cancellation written all over it.Looking at their projected fall schedule though I have one really good question...where is "Medium"?

The show looks like it could be interesting. With the success of Smallville, I think it might have a chance. Here's hoping for good writing.

I think that Lost has shown that ensemble pieces with a dash of sci-fi/fantasy can work if you've got great characters in the middle of a good mystery. Of course, pretty much all the genre shows the major networks tried last season have been cancelled since. But I'll give this one a shot, especially on Monday nights. I don't watch much football.

Hmmm....that actually looks pretty good, I'll be looking forward to it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_biggrin.gif)
And hopefully it'll be better than the genre shows of last season, didn't much care for any of them really.

I've heard it's being pushed back to mid season, looks like they're moving it to Sundays as well.

The show looks interesting. Someone already mentioned Smallville's success, plus there's Xmen and Superman in the theatres this summer. They also have it on Monday, with no more MN Football, and they put it after Deal or No Deal, which is one of their few hits, so all in all I'd say it has a decent chance. Unless it sucks.

Hmmm, I wonder if the power to prevent the show from being canceled is among those "incredible abilities."

This is the new show I'm most looking forward to. So I must apologize in advance - most of the new shows I get addicted to get cancelled immediately. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_wink.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_mrgreen.gif)

I'm so glad Greg Grunberg is getting a series. He was great in Alias. There are a few other interesting actors I've seen before too. The concept sounds a little 4400 to me but maybe it'll be a bit lighter in tone.

Sorry for the double post... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_razz.gif)

For those interested in jumping on this bandwagon early, some forums have already started up. I've found HeroesTheSeries forum plus Heroes Media will eventually add on a forum (but not yet).

Oh, and it's nice that there's a Whedon connection too - haven't seen Leonard Roberts in a loong time. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_biggrin.gif)

NBC's presentation at TCA as told by Ausiello:

Heroes panel

I'm curious as to why they cut the pilot down to 1 hour. Sounds like something Fox would do... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_rolleyes.gif) Doesn't bode well for the series. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_sad.gif) But I"m still lookin' forward to it! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_biggrin.gif)

For US only, the pilot will be available at iTunes for free starting Sep 1st with the use of special cards given out at AMC, Cinemaker, and Regal theatres. There will be other free downloads like behind the scenes stuff and previews of other NBC series.

Sorry international fans! You'll have to be content with all your special Serenity DVD features that we didn't get here. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_razz.gif)

I've seen the pilot. I completely understand why they cut it down - it would be FAR too much to have 2 hours, even the first hour has points that drag quite a bit. As a whole, the pilot is pretty decent - it suffers from a rather boring beginning (dream sequence, bleh), and ends with some extremely shaky "flying" effects. Here's hoping they've polished it up a bit. Also, several of the plot-lines held zero interest for me - especially Ali Larter's.

So that's the bad.

But the good?

Is AWESOME. I gasped a couple times, and even let loose as astonished "No. Fucking. Way." It has HUGE potential, especially now that Fuller has been brought on as a consulting producer. There are some awesome moments here, and some great stories that are lined up. One thing I did love is that it looks like these people really ARE being brought together for something. The powers are also done pretty awesomely, save for the aforementioned flying.

I think it has the most potential out of the pilots I've seen, and it has an excellent chance of sticking around. Also, not sure if they'll keep it in for the locked version, but in the copy I received they had a Bright Eyes song on the soundtrack, which hints that someone on the show has impeccable music taste. Heroes now has an Official/Unofficial Forum (silly, but that's what they say on the board (IMG:http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h248/cabri729/shrug.gif) )

It's called 9th Wonders and is run by Craig Byrne who I understand runs a popular Smallville BB called KryptonSite. 9th Wonders is at least semi-official -- a few of the show's writers have already posted, asking people's opinions about stuff and such.

It's a little more grown-up then the Heroestheseries forum -- not so much boyish enthusiasm (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_rolleyes.gif) -- but I think Heroestheseries trumps it media-wise, as 9th Wonders is still figuring things out and Heroestheseries early on got hooked up with the first good media site.

I just remembered, they've been discussing this song on the forums ever since the very first 2-hour pilot showing, plus the writers have talked about how much they like it, so chances are it's going to stay. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_biggrin.gif)

A friend who works at NBC got a copy of the pilot, and I got to see it as well.

It's not bad. It's no Lost but it's not bad. It could easily improve as it progresses.

It reminds more than a little of J Michael Straczynski's "Rising Stars" comic book. (4400 did as well to a degree.)

Indestructible Girl was good, Tortured Artist was good, Politician's Brother was ok, but Japanese Nerd might end up being my favorite. I'm not sure about Doppleganger Girl. We'll have to see, I reckon.

I'll certainly give it a chance.

Herc must have been busy while watching the pilot - he makes a couple really surprising mistakes. For instance? He complains that an eclipse wouldn't be visiable in both New York and Tokyo - and he's right. But if I remember right, the eclipse doesn't even happen in New York - and there's even a conversation about that fact, between two major characters no less. Also, it's not difficult to understand why a guy is just sitting in the middle of a fire - he's just been in a freaking train wreck. It's pretty obvious that he was injured, or in shock. Actually, most his complaints are non-issues - but I agree with his end conclusion. It's a decent pilot with some problems, but a HUGE amount of promise.

The Futon Critic announced Friday that Heroes will repeat on the SciFi Channel on Fridays starting 9/29:

QUOTE
"Heroes," which bows Monday, September 25 at 10:00/9:00c on the Peacock, will encore each Friday on Sci Fi at 7:00/6:00c starting September 29 while "Threshold" will take over the Friday, 10:00/9:00c hour starting October 13. The pair join new seasons of "Doctor Who" and "Battlestar Galactica" as well as repeats of ABC's "Night Stalker" revival.

To review, here's a breakdown of Sci Fi's Friday lineup for the fall:

6:00/5:00c - "Night Stalker" (as of September 29)
7:00/6:00c - "Heroes" (as of September 29)
8:00/7:00c - "Doctor Who" (as of September 29)
9:00/8:00c - "Battlestar Galactica" (as of October 6)
10:00/9:00c - "Threshold" (as of October 13)

The delayed starts for "Galactica" and "Threshold" are due to the expanded season premieres of both "Doctor Who" and "Galactica" itself.

FUCK! I WANT MY CABLE BACK! DR.WHO!! *Super Pissed off*

Anywho, I was planning on watching it and seeing if it was any good. Milo Ventimiglia is in it, so, it's my responsibility to see if there's any reason to watch it.
