FIREFLY: THE OFFICIAL COMPANION: VOLUME ONE (Titan Books, August 2006) is
just what the show's fans have been waiting for, with unseen photos,
scripts, behind the scenes secrets, and exclusive input from the cast and
crew, including, of course, creator Joss Whedon.

A labour of love for all concerned, this first volume of a two-volume set
covers the principal six episodes of the Firefly saga, with new
commentaries, all-new prop and costume photography and factual box-outs.
Built around the crew-annotated shooting scripts of the series and all-new
retrospective interviews with the entire cast, Firefly: The Official
Companion also delves into the process behind the show's unique storylines,
talking in-depth with Executive Producer Tim Minear and the writing staff
about the evolution of the show including the stories that were never
filmed!

Hmph. Thought you were gonna give us new info on companions, maybe another video from the training house or a guidebook - The Skills of a Companion or something like that. Already knew about this book... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_rolleyes.gif)

If anyone wants to actually see the companion early, we'll have a full color proof at the Browncoat tables at Comic-Con.

I haven't got mines yet *sniff* as apparently the suppliers have been surprised by the demand and can't keep up, yay for the Browncoats. Contacted amazon the other day who say there is going to be another 4 to six week delay but they've given me a £3 gift voucher to make up for the delay.

So are the books actually shipping yet? I know it's not even released in North America yet but I pre-ordered from the UK and all I have gotten from them was an email saying that the status of it is 4-6 weeks...confused...

I remember amazon had huge delays on the Serenity visual companion, which I ended up purchasing elsewhere. It was easy to find everywhere else, amazon was just somehow messed up horribly. If they do it again here in the US, I'm just going to cancel my amazon pre-order and get it from poplollies.com......more expensive at full retail, but she has good service and will actually GET IT TO ME!

My volume two showed up yesterday - I got tucked up in bed with it last night. Okay, I know this may be rushing things...

Okay, that sentence ended up in a place I didn't expect!

In a weeks time, I'll be watching the film in Edinburgh - think I have the time to watch the entire series again before then, because this damn book has made me want to!
