At Collectormania 9 this weekend, Alan Tudyk revealed that Joss had told him that Wash and Book would both be in a sequel to Serenity, if it happens. Alan was speaking at a panel talk on Sunday April 30th where he was joined by Ron Glass. When asked if the two would consider being a part of the sequel, Alan replied that he had been told both characters would return in any second film.

Ron also said he said "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" when he first read the Serenity script, raising his fists in the air. Okay, that bit was made up.

Huzzah! *does the happy monkey dance*

One wonders if Joss'll be doing flashback, hallucination, dream sequence, lovebot look-a-likes or full-on prequel then... I doubt the latter two.

As far as I know, the idea was/is no prequel, and no cheesy resurrection spells or any of that gunk. Probably flashbacks.

I hope Joss changes his mind about a prequel. I'd like to see all of the crew, all of the time!

I would just be happy with a new movie. I don't care if its a sequel, prequel, whatever as long as Mal is in it I am a happy girl.

Mal will be in it, but they've recast him as that fine actor Casper Van Dien.

Yes Doubleshiny is right a fact I can confirm after meeting both Alan Tudyk and Ron Glass two of the nicest and funniest people I've ever met. It was a pleasure to meet them and put my faith in the fact that not all famous people are jerks. Total legends, Ron said him and Alan were the dead men walking and that they would return! Plus Ron Glass used the redway system and said he though Milton Keynes was a nice place!

I needed that news right now.

I'm still a little new to the verse but I just bought the DVD's last week, which led me to buying the comic book Saturday, and today I was feeling a little bumed about the posiblitly of never seeing another show or movie. It was rather depressing.
(I don't know how those of you who have been fans for 3+ years handle it)

But hearing this was something. I know this doesn't mean there will definitely be a sequel, but at least they are talking about it.

Great! The only better news would be that they've greenlit another movie (or, better yet, the series)!

As far as a flashback option, i thought the flashbacks about the crew on Serenity in Out of Gas were awesome, anything close to that would be good.

Didn't Joss himself already say that they'd be back in any further sequels? I seem to recall that he did but I could be confusing it with when he said that the entire cast signed up for three sequels. But as my memory serves me, I recall him going on to say that both Book and Wash would be returning.

At the Edinburgh premiere last summer, Joss said that if the sequels were made, then we would probably see everyone back including Wash and Book. I think this is old news.

Yep, it is old news - me and doubleshiny were there - but I think it's worth repeating from the actors in questions point of view. Also, I doubt most of the newbies knew (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_biggrin.gif)

Amen to that. I was zapped by the Firefly late last year... I still can't get it all out my mind. I check for sequel news every day now. Everyone is on other projects, which is fine. I just hope it doesn't take YEARS like it did for Star Trek.
