Don't carve this into your stone calendars just yet, since the programmers have been changing things at the last minute lately.
http://www.scifi.com/schedulebot/index.php...8&feed_req= Eleven hours of Firefly, Monday, February 18. My conjecture at this time is that they will pick up where they left off the last time (Serenity-Bushwhacked) and complete the series with Shindig-Objects in Space. That is...unless they change the schedule again between now and then, or even three or four times between now and then. |

LOL ( What?----may as well laugh, they're gonna do it anyway!)
Thank you ECGordon. As the last marathon, as late and as limited as it was, garnered new folks interested in/in love with FF/S this will be good. I noticed some of the new folks on several of the boards cited the marathon this month as the reason they discovered FF. *sigh* I wish they'd put it in real rotation and consider it for prime time viewing too. If they ran it a week ( filling an obvious programming need! ) and then finished off the week with Serenity they'd have a huge pruchasing audience for their advertisers and they'd garner such good will they'd have a loyal audience for their other shows. Not only that, the signal would hit new eyeballs and we'd grow. |

I think it might be a good idea if we have an e-mail campaign, thanking Sci/Fi for scheduling the Marathon, and asking them to please keep it intact on their schedule (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_smile.gif) .
We could wait until January 2nd to do it, after the Holidays. This would give us time to pass the word and get everyone we know to help. Then, on the second, e-mail feedback@scifi.com and (in your own words) Thank them and ask that they not change the schedule. This sort of thing has actually worked before, and there's no reason to assume that it wouldn't have a positive effect this time. -Especially if we get enough folks to do it! |

I agree TD. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_smile.gif)
Let's do that and I don't think it would hurt to ask them to consider showing it in prime time if the writer's strike continues. Ok, I can't dig it up where it was posted quickly ( I'm holiday baking ) but didn't you have a campaign for something similar TD? For the summer? Couldn't we modify that to fit with the writer's strike request? |

I know the campaign you're talking about, and maybe we can do that in January as well, but the e-mail thing about this Marathon is a good idea too, given what skiffy did to the last Marathon. Supposedly, USA Channel was getting a broadcast contract for Firefly. Maybe we should do that "Replacement Series" thing going with them due to the strike, huh? I'm treating myself to a Firefly marathon of my own over the holiday. How fun it is to revisit the crew that I grew so fond of. How I would love to see another movie.

A Shiny 2008 to everyone! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_smile.gif)
Please e-mail Skiffy in the next few days, to thank them for the upcoming Marathon, and to ask that they keep their word! B) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_smile.gif) I have it on pretty good authority that the USA thing isn't so. I think it was an extrapolation of the Serenity rights that USA purchased to show the movie on family cable. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_sad.gif) I'm not sayin' it's for sure not true, but the folks who first talked about it now speculate it's not so. So I think until we have proof of that one, writing Skiffy is our best option. I liked that idea so much and as the strike drags on optional programming other than reality shows are going to be hard to find. I hope that the suggestion to show Firefly won't fall on deaf ears. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_smile.gif) A Shiny 2008 to everyone! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_smile.gif) Please e-mail Skiffy in the next few days, to thank them for the upcoming Marathon, and to ask that they keep their word! B) Shiny New Year back, TD! And everyone! Quick question: How often are we going to try to write before the actual airing of the marathon? It's pretty far out there and I certainly agree with getting an early start like we're doing, just curious if we'll do it closer to the date too? |

Well, I figure that telling them thanks NOW, coupled with the e-mails they got when they cut the last one in half, just might keep them from trimming this next one. Sending Thank Yous on the 18th itself is also a good idea, don'tchathink? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_smile.gif)
