At the Browncoat Cruise, which I was lucky enough to attend, Ron Glass spoke several times about a recent phone conversation he had with Joss Whedon. Ron told us several things Joss told him about Book's background. He also gave us some fantastic news regarding Dark Horse and the Serenity Comics. Here, in no particular chronological order, is what Ron told us:
1) There is something "artificial" about Book. Heart? Limbs? Joss didn't say. Maybe we'll find out why he "never married" lol (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_wink.gif) 2) "Derrial" stole the name of a man he killed. 3)Book is well known for his greatest failure. and, 4) Dark Horse will be producing a Comic Series titled, "A Shepherd's Tale" No details on this and no release date, but it looks like it'll be a third trilogy to go with "Those Left Behind" and "Better Days". Whatta ya think the likeliehood of your fanboy dream that Book was the General who lost the battle of Serenity is TD??
I for look forward to maybe someday in the far distant future possibly accidentally running across a copy of this new tale.But then again if a frog had wings he bump his ass a hoppin'. Maybe I can talk the libarary here into getting them I can't be the ONLY Browncoat in Madison. Hmmmm.... So is the thinking that he couldn't get married due to his a havin' a artificial ring finger??? ( well I thought it was funny sheesh...) |
