I know I offered to make buttons, back in the hours before we found out the Flan was a go after all. ::whew!::

I will still be happy to make buttons, if I can get an idea a) how many might want them, b) who you are, and c) how I'll issue them to you.

I have checked my button parts supply, and it looks like I might have something on the order of 50 to 100 button parts in stock.

They are not doing me any good sitting here in a plastic bag, and I'm no longer in the button business (except for very, very limited special occasions, like this one), so if you e-mail me at crankybeach at yahoo dot com and tell me you saw the offer in the Browncoats forum--your button is free.

Anyone who comes up to me at the Flan itself and asks for one (assuming there's any interest at all) will have to pay me a dollar.

And it occurs to me, since I'm on Flan staff, I might not want to be wearing a b!X minion button, in case it causes bad feelings. So I might have to designate an official button-issuer that isn't me.

Perhaps one of the dealers would be willing to issue the buttons from his or her table? Perhaps b!X himself would like a button that says b!X and could hand out the minion buttons, assuming I can find b!X to issue them to him?

Hey, I'm just thinking out loud here. Anyone have any ideas? Brickbats? Custard pies? Flame wars? Bring 'em on!

It just makes me giggle the idea of a button underground. LOL. And I'd like one.

Oh, yeah, I remember an underground button campaign from a con nearly 20 years ago....

One of the con organizers was named George, and right around that time "winkies" were popular. You know, those little one-inch square circuit board thingys with red and green flashing LEDs for the eyes?

Through a conspiracy ahead of time, by the time the con started, every time George turned around, he'd see somebody wearing a dirty winky button. Examples: I've seen George's winkie, and it's only one inch. I've handled George's winkie and it's STILL only one inch. George has the winkie situation well in hand. That sort of thing.

Fortunately, George had a great sense of humor, and laughed about the whole thing.

Whoever wants a minion button, don't forget to e-mail me at crankybeach at yahoo.com, and tell me your real name in case I need to actually call your room to find you.... I will e-mail everyone back with my own real name so you can call MY room if you have to. I'm checking in Thursday afternoon, and I am already starting a list of screen names of button requesters, so we can get this show on the road.

Wait... we won't be using fake names??? Or have a secret handshake? At least you should come up with one half of a sentence and give the other half to people who email! I mean, come on!! ;P

We'll just look for the unsavory looking person in a brown coat who hangs out at the street corner and hisses, "Psst! Hey...Buddy, c'mere! Want some?" as the coat is surreptitiously swept open to reveal an array of shiny buttons.

It's far more amusing to leave me out of it, so no I don't think I should distribute them. ;)

Okay... I have just e-mailed all of you who have e-mailed me so far.

In case I missed you, you can find me at the Flan acting as PA to one of the twins.

And if you e-mail me later and I somehow miss it--just look for a PA beating the girls off a twin with a stick, ask her if she's CrankyBeach (and if she isn't, she'll know where CrankyBeach is, 'cause the other twin PA is my best friend). When you find me, just tell me you saw the minion button offer in the forum and you want one. I will then reach into my pocket and hand you a button. Easy as that.

I will be bringing the button-making equipment with me, and all the button parts I have left, so I can pass these things out until I run out of button parts. I don't have time to count them... but I might have 50 or so.

See you all soon!

P.S. There's still time to e-mail me, at least for another day or two. That's crankybeach at yahoo dot com.
