Admin did say to start new threads for each problem.
Again, this is more an FYI, not something I find terribly troubling, but I'm only occasionally getting emails letting me know I have a PM. It might be Yahoo, but I'm not technologically savvy enough to know. |

I wasn't getting e-mail notifications either, but I noticed it's because they had been turned off when the board was moved. Unfortunately, I haven't received another PM since I checked the box saying I wanted them again. If someone wants to send me one so we can see if it's working, that would be fab.

Hmmm, odd I didnt get that one, but I've checked my email box against my PM box and that's the only one I haven't got.
For those not getting any mails since the upgrade I suggest you check the settings in your profile, for those getting intermittent mails, I'll check the logs and see if I can spot anything, but can I ask that everyone spam me with PMs for the evening and I'll see how many and which get through. Cheers |

Both cab and admin sent me PMs and I received no notification of them.
As stated in post #3, I checked my settings after the board was moved and the settings had been changed so that I wasn't going to receive notifications. I corrected this. I checked again to verify that I had corrected it before I made post #3 as well. Perhaps it is something to do with the server settings of my web space provider. Would admin please send an e-mail rather than a PM from the link in my profile? If that doesn't go through, I may have to add the address to the accepted user list. For the record, the e-mails are not going to a junk folder either. They just aren't coming through at all. I sent a response to the PMs that you and cab sent me. If that's not enough to test it, please let me know and I'll send you another PM. You wouldn't happen to be using a hotmail address for the board would you? I've had problems with those messages not going through in the past when they're auto generated by a message board. If that's the case, I don't think there's anything I can do to fix it. I even tried adding the e-mail addresses I've had that trouble with to the accepted user list and that didn't work. |

I've switched the boards mail settings to SMTP from the in-built system to see if it makes any difference.

I believe the settings change worked as I received notification of the PM and that cab had posted a reply in this thread.
Cheers for fixing it. |

Sil, I've checked the email logs and there were a few on there from the other night, about 20 mails failed within an hour but not one of those was destined for you, this is odd. I'll keep looking into it, but I can't see what's going on.

Were any of them destined for me?
I think it was yesterday when I found that my own thread (in fun) had been replied to several times w/o me getting an e-mail... but then it started working again after I replied. <shrug> it's weird. |

I feel it necessary to point out that when I knew I was taking over the boards, I handed chat over to Chikara.
But cheers |

Yes a couple of them were destined for you. oooh, interesting. I don't suppose you have the failure notices anymore... I was wondering if it had any info in it that I might be able to do anything about (like an issue on my end). And thank you for looking into this. As Sil mentioned, it's working now... All hail dev! |

All it actually said was that your mail server refused the mail as your address wasn't recognised, which makes it sound like a glitch at gmail, which seems unlikely to me.

'cause sometimes I don't get facebook e-mails until days and days after they were actually sent. So I am starting to wonder if there is a glitch in gmail. but Thank you! Joni |

Okay. This could totally be a Yahoo problem and not a Serenitymovie problem, but I just got an email PM alert from March 3rd.

I can guarantee that's a yahoo problem. Mmmm. I don't know. I just got a notification I had a PM from a conversation I had last Sunday. I didn't have this delayed notification before. *shrugs* Not that I really care, actually. I'm on site most days, so I get 99% of my PM's as they happen. |

Yeah, I figured. But damn it, I'm not changing emails. Somehow I've managed to get 4 different emails, all of which get shit sent to them, and I'm not getting another just because the service suck ass. Harrumph. You should try gmail. The spam filter is very good. I have problems with Yahoo and Hotmail message with my domain name sometimes also. The server thinks they're spam messages when they aren't sometimes. Anyway, if you change your mind, let me know. I have several gmail addies so I have plenty of invites I can send. |
