As gossi's registration of the serenitymovie.org is about to expire we have begun the process to transfer the domain over to myself. As we use different registrars it is possible there will be some downtime, so if at any point over the next couple of days you can't get in, that's why.

Hopefully we wont have any disruption at all, but, if we do, it should be short-lived and normal service will be restored thereafter.

For anyone not aware a new site is up and running, theinside-out.net The aim of this site is to get Tim Minear's The Inside released on DVD. For anyone not familiar with the show, go to the site and it will tell you about it, for those who are familiar, you already know what a great show this was, and as per usual cancelled before it's time.

Only 7 episodes aired in the US, those in the UK were luckier in that although they had to wait longer, they got all 13 episodes.

The show has not yet been released on DVD.

The aim of the new site is to rectify this error.

Firefly is now available to pre-order on Blu-Ray. By doing so you would also be helping to support The Inside. Fox watches these numbers pretty closely and if they continue to see support for Tim's writing, then along with other efforts, we may yet convince them that they need to release The Inside on DVD, so that they can make money and we can all enjoy this great series time and time again. So go to amazon and pre-order Firefly on Blu-Ray, and go the TheInside-out.net to see how else you can help.

OK, you could do better. And you really, really should.

Over the years fans have written beautiful, funny, emotional songs about Mal, and the crew, and the ship, and the 'verse. But we've never heard any original songs about my favorite character, Saffron. As far as I can tell, there are exactly two: Saffron's wedding song from the soundtrack (later covered by The Bedlam Bards on their "On the Drift" CD) and "Saffron," a filk to the tune of Gordon Lightfoot's "Sundown" by the immortal Lux Lucre.

That's it? I can't understand this. YoSaffBridge is definitely someone who would inspire songs. Cautionary ones, at least. We've seen stories, poems, even limericks, but where are the ballads about this beautiful, deceitful redhead?

Well, they're here. During June, anyway. I'm announcing "Sing a Song of Saffron," a month-long contest for great prizes, to be judged by me, The Bedlam Bards, and Saffron herself, actress Christina Hendricks! Send in your best original song or filk and win autographed "Firefly" soundtracks, a Jason Palmer Saffron portrait, copies of the "Out in the Black" RPG, "Serenity" money packs, t-shirts, an autographed picture of the lady in question, even a custom-made Saffron Barbie!



Songs will be posted at http://www.myspace.com/singasongofsaffron, and there will be prizes for Best Original, Best Filk, and a Browncoats' Choice chosen by reader votes. Entries will be accepted from June 1st - 30th, 2007, enter as often as you like.
